Johnny Miles (1903–1992) was a celebrated Canadian long-distance runner known for his remarkable achievements in the sport during the early 20th century. Born in Nova Scotia, Miles gained fame for his incredible endurance and competitive spirit. He is best remembered for winning the Boston Marathon twice, first in 1926 and again in 1929. His 1926 victory was particularly notable; he became the first runner to complete the marathon under the coveted two-hour and thirty-minute mark, finishing with a time of 2:25:39.

Miles was not only a marathon champion but also excelled in other long-distance events, setting several Canadian records throughout his career. He was known for his distinctive running style and exceptional training regimen, which included running barefoot.
